There’s a constant pressure to be productive, impressive, or successful. Sometimes the noise can be so loud that curiosity and connection get pushed aside. Frankenstipple exists because I believe creativity and curiosity are a way back to ourselves and each other. 

I look to nature for grounding, and I have found that it’s a part of our world that is unafraid to be strange, expressive, and imperfect. I think being “unserious” helps us become unafraid. Unserious art makes space for play. It softens the edges of everyday life. It reminds us that humor is a connector. And sometimes the most radical thing you can do is not take yourself so seriously, to express your joy, to stay curious, to create anyway, and to connect with others.

  • Alexis, illustrator, educator, and surface designer behind Frankenstipple

    Alexis Morin

    STUDIO ARTIST & FOUNDER

    Alexis is the super serious founder of Frankenstipple. She creates all the fun things and keeps the studio alive. She likes sharing what she’s learned in her 10 years in the art and design industry. Occasionally distracted by dogs, plants, and new ideas.

    Bernadette (Bernie)

    HEAD OF SECURITY

    Have a package? Bernie lets the staff know about it immediately. Squirrels trying to break into the studio? Not on her watch. Visitors? They must go through her and pass the vibe check first. She’s always keeping a watch, even when she’s napping.

    Frankenstein (Frankie)

    ADMIN ASSISTANT

    Frankie helps with all that boring stuff. She takes care of scheduling and monitoring meetings and ensures that all employees get a sunshine break. Anxiety? Don’t worry about her. Frankie oversees weekly meditations and journaling sessions.

    Sophie is the newest member of the team! She’s getting really comfortable with customer service and really anything that includes people. She pretends to know how to use the printer and break time is her fave!

Studio Lore

  • The studio likes to chaos garden for fun. The team plants random seeds and hopes for the best.

  • It’s been rumored that some of the team members believe in aliens.

  • They used to make graphics for regional theatres.

  • They’ve been featured in a few cool places.

  • The studio was named after Frankie.

  • Alexis found her niche with Frankenstipple! It only took experimenting with graphic design, photography, marketing, video editing, teaching, burnout, and a bunch of boxes of unfinished crafts!
